It has been an exciting opening weekend here at Northstar! We were able to kick off the 14-15 season with a light layer of fresh snow Friday morning which made conditions absolutely epic. The weather has been optimal for blowing snow due to the night time inversions we’ve been receiving. With these cold temperatures, our snowmakers have been busy providing our trails with the best possible conditions. In preparation for more snowfall this weekend we were able to blow snow on 12 trails overnight. As for our mountain, we have 6 lifts turning providing access to 4 trails. Our terrain park crew has been forming their features on Skid Trail. You can find a variety of rails and boxes made for all skill levels. Always remember to be safe and have fun out there. It is still early season and the last thing you want to do is get an injury! The excitement is only beginning as we look forward to the potential storm coming our way into the weekend. Stay tuned for more reports and video blogs throughout the season.

Happy Thanksgiving from Northstar! We are extremely excited to announce the opening of our summit. That’s right, we are officially open to the top starting tomorrow and extremely happy to be expanding our terrain. A big thanks goes out to our snowmakers and snow surfaces team for all their hard work. We are also watching an incoming storm which should bring a decent layer of fresh snow and allow us to expand our terrain even further. As for this weekend we are expecting to open with 7 lifts turning, providing access to 7 trails. Keep an eye on our snow report though; as the snow falls we will be opening more trails. Our terrain parks are being shaped daily and the crew has been busy adding jumps and features. We currently have 13 features still located on Skid Trail. As for dining on our mountain, starting this weekend our Summit Deck & Grille will be open as well as our Mid-Mountain options. For lunch, visit Tavern 6330’ in The Village to try the award-winning Smoked Elk Patty Melt served on sourdough with house-made pickle aioli, Arugula and white cheddar. House-made potato kettle chips served alongside. Hope you all continue your snow dances and get a chance to join us here at Northstar on this holiday weekend.
