Some new activities this year consisted of a Farm-to-Tahoe Dinner at Zephyr Lodge, a Raw Foods Seminar, Pedals & Pinot (wine tasting via bikes), and Winemaker for a Day at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe.
The Sunday Culinary Competition and Grand Tasting featured more than 30 restaurants, wineries, brewers and distillers from the Lake Tahoe area, resulting in over 90 wines poured, and dishes as diverse as octopus soppressatta, rabbit and wild boar roulade, and elk patty melts.
Smoked elk patty melts with ancho chili, topped with caramelized onions, finished with a red wine sauce and sharp white cheddar brought home the People’s Choice Award. Northstar’s own Tavern 6330′ Chef Dan paired this dish with Stanger Vineyards to take home the award.

Gold: Village Pizzeria (Meatballs Marinara)
Silver: Moody’s Bistro (Rabbit and Wild Boar Roulade)
Bronze: PJ’s at Grey Crossing (Roasted Beef Canape)
