On January 13th, JetBlue announced it would offer direct flights from JFK International Airport in New York to Reno-Tahoe International Airport. This will be the first time daily non-stop service has ever been offered between these locations, creating a new thoroughfare for New York skiers to access Lake Tahoe and Northstar.
This flight, which has taken nearly ten years to come to fruition, will begin service on May 28, 2015, providing fast and convenient access to the Tahoe region for the beautiful Tahoe summer and the 2015.2016 winter ski season.
Chris Baum, CEO of the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority is quoted as saying “This is big stuff. From meetings to conventions, Tesla, skiing. Every segment we pursue needs this service.”
The route will be served by a twin-engine Airbus A320, departing JFK at 7:40 p.m. and arriving in Reno at 11:07 p.m. The flight will then depart Reno at 11:59 p.m. to arrive back in New York at 8:09 a.m.
